A Multi-Dimensional Maturity Assessment Driving Organizational Transformation

A Multi-Dimensional Maturity Assessment Driving Organizational Transformation

About Project

In capital-intensive and highly complex industries such as oil & gas and construction, fragmented capabilities and misaligned organizational practices often limit sustainable performance. To address this challenge, we partnered with a diversified oil & gas and construction company to conduct a comprehensive, multi-dimensional Maturity Assessment as the foundation for a large-scale transformation journey.

We successfully delivered an enterprise-wide Maturity Assessment project for a company operating across oil & gas and construction sectors. The assessment evaluated organizational maturity across 20 distinct dimensions, including organization, strategy, human resources, finance, engineering, and core operational functions. The objective was to establish a clear, data-driven understanding of the company's current state, define target maturity levels, and translate insights into a structured transformation roadmap.

Our Approach

1

Multi-Dimensional Maturity Framework

Designed and applied a maturity assessment framework covering 20 critical organizational and operational dimensions.

2

Broad Stakeholder Engagement

Engaged a wide range of internal stakeholders across functions and management levels to ensure a holistic and fact-based assessment.

3

Current-State & Target-State Definition

Assessed existing maturity levels and defined realistic, ambition-aligned target maturity levels for each dimension.

4

Gap & Needs Analysis

Identified structural, process, capability, and governance gaps across assessed dimensions.

5

Action Plan Development

Translated assessment findings into prioritized, actionable improvement initiatives.

6

Transformation Roadmap Design

Developed an integrated transformation plan consolidating all initiatives into a coherent and phased execution roadmap.

Strategy

Our strategy focused on creating a shared and transparent understanding of organizational strengths and weaknesses as the foundation for sustainable transformation. Key strategic pillars included:

Holistic Perspective

Assessing maturity across organizational, managerial, and technical dimensions rather than isolated functions.

Fact-Based Diagnosis

Leveraging structured assessments and broad participation to ensure objectivity and ownership.

Target-Oriented Design

Defining clear target maturity levels aligned with the company's strategic ambitions and sector realities.

Execution Readiness

Ensuring that insights were translated into concrete, prioritized, and executable transformation initiatives.

Capability & Leadership Enablement

Supporting the organization with training programs and leadership roles to sustain momentum.

Results & Impact

Clear identification of previously overlooked or underestimated organizational and operational gaps.

Alignment on current and target maturity levels across 20 organizational dimensions.

A prioritized portfolio of transformation initiatives supported by concrete action plans.

Launch of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide transformation program.

Appointment of a dedicated Transformation Manager to lead and coordinate execution.

Delivery of targeted training programs to strengthen internal transformation capabilities.

As a result of this maturity-driven approach, the company gained a structured and objective view of its organizational realities and transformation priorities. The assessment enabled leadership to address long-standing blind spots, align stakeholders around a shared transformation vision, and initiate a comprehensive transformation program supported by governance, capability building, and clear ownership-laying the foundation for long-term resilience and performance improvement.
